Emine Erdoğan: "We Believe We Are One and Whole with All Our Differences"
Speaking at a luncheon for the spouses of ambassadors in Turkey on the occasion of the 9th Ambassadors' Conference, Emine Erdoğan said, "The Turkish nation overcame the coup attempt with its fortitude and strong state will."
On the occasion of the 9th Ambassadors Conference, Emine Erdoğan came together with the spouses of ambassadors in Turkey at a luncheon organized at the Presidential Complex and delivered a speech at the luncheon. In her speech, Emine Erdoğan reminded that 2016 was a difficult year due to the July 15 coup attempt and terrorist attacks and expressed her wish to heal these wounds in 2017.
"THE WEST HAS DENIED ITS STATEMENTS ON DEMOCRACY"
Stating that the coup attempt was overcome with the will of the Turkish nation and the strong will of the state, Emine Erdoğan pointed to the attitude of Western countries regarding Turkey's struggle for democracy and said, "With this attitude, the West has denied the sentences it has established about democracy."
Emphasizing that Turkey should make more efforts to explain Turkey's just struggle, Emine Erdoğan said, "Please let us explain Turkey's just struggle in all channels by preserving the language of peace. Let us be the spokesperson of the truth. This is our debt first to the martyrs, then to this homeland and finally to our nation."
Stating that terrorism, which is a global threat, even targets the hopes of the new year, Emine Erdoğan reminded the principle of "Whoever kills a human being unjustly, wherever he is in the world, is as if he has killed all humanity".
"OUR NATION CANNOT BE DIVIDED ON THE BASIS OF ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES"
Emine Erdoğan said the following: "Our nation cannot be divided and pitted against each other on the basis of life styles, ethnic and belief differences. We believe that we are one and whole with all our differences. We will do our best to strengthen this unity. On the one hand, we will continue our fight against terrorism, on the other hand, we will grow our brotherhood, and on the other hand, we will strengthen Turkey."
Referring to Turkey's humanitarian development assistance and its humanitarian approach to refugees, Emine Erdoğan said, "Humanitarian and conscientious diplomacy is Turkey's heart abroad. God willing, as long as we exist, we will continue to be the voice of the oppressed and victimized."
