Emine Erdoğan attended the "Memories of the Century Cultural Diplomacy Program from Past to Present"
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife Emine Erdoğan met with women ambassadors and ambassadors' spouses at the "Memories of the Century Cultural Diplomacy Program from Past to Present" organized at Çankaya Mansion on the occasion of the 14th Ambassadors Conference.
Expressing her pleasure to come together on the occasion of the Ambassadors Conference, Emine Erdoğan said, "I am proud to be together with our women who will build the Turkish Century in the 100th anniversary of our Republic, at the heart of our war of independence."
Pointing out that the lands known as the "geography of the heart" are far beyond the physical borders of all the states established by Turks throughout history, Emine Erdoğan said that the climate of peace and tolerance of our ancestors continues to exist.
Emphasizing that the foundations founded by philanthropic women from the Balkans to Yemen, Jerusalem, Hejaz and Africa are still alive, Emine Erdoğan said, "The name of our nation is identified with mercy, compassion and generosity in the heart shrines of all the oppressed people of the world."
Stating that the ambassadors, with the lives they touch in their duty stations, bring the whole world into the geography of their hearts, Emine Erdoğan continued as follows: "We will continue to give hope to oppressed geographies with our initiatives such as Africa House so that the handicrafts of productive women can be sold in a fair market. Turkey will always be in the field and will continue to be the conscience of the world. However, our only capital is not our philanthropy, we have a deep-rooted civilization heritage, each element of which is more valuable than the other, which can be a remedy for the world's uniform culture."
"OUR DUTY IS TO GIVE LIFE TO THE WORLD'S INCREASINGLY BARREN CLIMATE"
Stating that the "Memories of a Century" exhibition opened at the Çankaya Mansion reveals the story of the nation's embrace of its history, Emine Erdoğan said: "Our past, full of heroes of civilization and culture who will be role models for humanity, is our greatest wealth. In Mevlana's words, our words that come from the heart go beyond the ears and reach the hearts all over the world. Likewise, I believe that we will be one step closer to world peace with the hearts that will be fermented by Hacı Bektaş Veli, Âşık Veysel, Pir Sultan Abdal and Yunus Emre. Our duty is to be able to give life water to the increasingly barren climate of the world through this magnificent heritage."
Emphasizing the importance of Turkey's loyalty and generosity, Emine Erdoğan said, "For this reason, I think that while universal values are being rebuilt, we owe it to humanity to open our treasure chest full of centuries-old heritage. Like our spiritual world, our tangible cultural heritage will contribute to writing the story of humanity on earth on the axis of truth."
Pointing to the repercussions of the archaeological excavations around the world, Emine Erdoğan said, "Turkey is gaining more and more value in terms of touristic value as a region that becomes more and more mysterious as it is discovered. Of course, we need to add these treasures to our cultural diplomacy pool."
Expressing the importance of explaining beauty as much as multiplying it, Emine Erdoğan reminded that for this purpose, they compiled the healing recipes of Anatolia in the book "Turkish Cuisine with Centuries-old Recipes".
Expressing her belief that "World Breakfast Day" and "World Turkish Coffee Day" will bring the Turkish gastronomic treasure to the level it deserves, Emine Erdoğan asked for support from the ambassadors to bring the "Bohça" brand, which they brought to Turkey, to the level it deserves in the world market.
"ZERO WASTE MOVEMENT HAS REACHED INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION"
Emphasizing that the Zero Waste Movement, which they are trying to transform into a lifestyle by joining hands as a nation, has reached international dimensions, Emine Erdoğan said, "We will hold the first face-to-face meeting of the 'United Nations Advisory Board of High-Level Personalities on Zero Waste' in Istanbul. I would like to remind you that the '31 October World Cities Day' meeting will also be held in Istanbul, the apple of the world's eye. Our expectation from you is that you will take steps to announce the activities we carry out to share our experiences with the human family to the international public."
"WE AIM TO TURN THE 29TH OF OCTOBER EVENTS INTO A CELEBRATION WORTHY OF OUR 100TH ANNIVERSARY"
Referring to the awards brought to Turkey, literary works published, achievements in cinema, TV series and sports, Emine Erdoğan said: "With this motivation, we aim to transform the October 29th events into a celebratory feast worthy of our 100th anniversary and showcasing our cultural, artistic and literary treasures. We have unique accumulations with our multi-religious, multi-cultural, multi-national, multi-juridical past and our faith that commands us to love the creature because of the Creator. In this context, while humanity is being provoked by Islamophobia, we see how much we need our experience of living together. It is the day to pass through the doors of the heart, whose locks are broken with charity and goodness, with our art, literature, dances, folklore, words and instruments."
After the program, where singer Ferhat Göçer gave a mini concert, Emine Erdoğan posed for a photo with the wives of the ambassadors.
"MEMORIES OF THE CENTURY" EXHIBITION
Emine Erdoğan visited the exhibition titled "Memories of the Century" organized within the scope of the program and received information from the stands about the events that will shed light on Turkey's 100 years of cultural diplomacy since the proclamation of the Republic and the traditional arts and products that have reached today. Emine Erdoğan also visited the booth on marbling, one of the traditional handicrafts, where she practiced marbling. At the exhibition, Emine Erdoğan was also offered chickpeas, traditional Turkish delights and Turkish coffee cooked in sand.
