Emine Erdoğan inaugurated the mosque and school renovated by TIKA in Gambia

Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Gambia, Emine Erdoğan opened the Kembujae Madina Village Mosque and Omar bin Khattab School, which were renovated by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Gambia.

In her speech at the opening ceremony, Emine Erdoğan stated that the mutual visits will strengthen the friendship between the two countries and said, "I was happy to open this beautiful mosque and school after the renovation of this beautiful mosque and school with the efforts of TIKA, the hand of friendship of our country. I would like to thank everyone who contributed. I fully believe that the seeds we sowed here today will sprout for the future of The Gambia."

Emphasizing that investment in youth and education is the most profitable investment, Emine Erdoğan said that the school, which provides education in English and Arabic, will be a hope for the future of many Gambian children.

Emine Erdoğan noted the following: "These centers of knowledge will shape the future of Africa. God willing, the students who grow up here will write their own heroic stories. As the Turkish people and state, we are always friends of the beautiful African people. The bridges of brotherhood we have built bring us together at the common point of humanity. The 21st century can be very different for Africa. We have things to do together for this. The first step is education. God willing, Africa will be reborn from its ashes. It will rebuild itself with its natural riches, cultural accumulation and special people."

Accompanied by the Gambian President's wife Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, Emine Erdoğan visited the classrooms and then visited the Turkish Maarif Foundation School.

During their visit, Emine Erdoğan was accompanied by Hülya Çavuşoğlu, wife of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and Şule Akar, wife of Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar.
