Emine Erdoğan inaugurated the library built by TIKA and the Maarif Foundation South Africa Head Office
Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Johannesburg, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated the library built by TIKA at Houghton Islamic Academy and the South Africa Head Office of Maarif Foundation.
In her speech at the opening of the library built by TIKA at the Houghton Islamic Academy, where Turkish is also part of the curriculum and nearly 350 students receive education, Emine Erdoğan said that this initiative, which will strengthen the friendship between South Africa and Turkey, is a gift to the future.
Stating that in the light of historical relations dating back to the 19th century, the students who will grow up in this institution will shape the world of the future, Emine Erdoğan inspected the library and gave gifts to the students. The school administration thanked Emine Erdoğan for her participation and Turkey's contribution.

During her visit to Johannesburg, Emine Erdoğan also opened the South Africa Head Office of the Maarif Foundation. In her short speech at the opening ceremony, Emine Erdoğan stated that Maarif Foundation is the product of a pure mind, a genuine heart and most importantly, the address of trust.
Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and his wife Şule Akar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu's wife Hülya Çavuşoğlu, Maarif President Prof. Birol Akgün, TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam, MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, DEİK President Nail Olpak, TİM President İsmail Gülle and Deputy President of Religious Affairs Dr. Selim Argun were also present at the opening of the Maarif Foundation Head Office.
