Emine Erdoğan met with Fatima Maada Bio, wife of the President of Sierra Leone

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife Emine Erdoğan met with Fatima Maada Bio, wife of President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone, in Nigeria's capital Abuja.

Fatima Maada Bio said that they built a hospital in Nigeria inspired by Emine Erdoğan and named the gynecology department after her.

Fatima Maada Bio stated that they support African countries to stand on their own feet and emphasized that Emine Erdoğan is the only "first lady" that all African leaders' wives are inspired by.

"WE AGREE THAT COOPERATION IS CRITICAL IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER"

In her social media post about the visit, Emine Erdoğan said the following: "We met with my dear friend Fatima Maada Bio, the wife of the President of Sierra Leone and a member of our Zero Waste Advisory Board, in Nigeria. We had a fruitful meeting on the occasion of the Raising Awareness of African Countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the Fight against Cancer Program. We exchanged views on our common goals and efforts in this direction. We are on the same page that cooperation is critical in the fight against cancer. We agree to work together for healthier and more resilient societies."
