Emine Erdoğan Visited Daryel Orphanage and Djibouti National Women's Union
Accompanying President Erdoğan on his visit to Djibouti, Emine Erdoğan met with women representatives of civil society on the first day of her visit. On the second day of her visit, Emine Erdoğan visited the Daryel Orphanage under the patronage of Kadra Mahamoud Haid, wife of the President of Djibouti, and then addressed the National Women's Union of Djibouti.
Emine Erdoğan continued her civil society visits in Djibouti, the second stop of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's Africa visit.
After arriving in Djibouti from Ethiopia, Emine Erdoğan met with Djiboutian women at the Turkish Embassy in the evening and chatted with civil society representatives working on issues such as aid and solidarity, the visually impaired, the disabled and environmental awareness. The Djiboutian women, who said that they normally do not attend such meetings, said that they attended this meeting because of their love for President Erdoğan and reminded Emine Erdoğan of her saying "Behind every strong man there is a strong woman".
Taking note of the needs of civil society representatives, Emine Erdoğan took a souvenir photo with the participants.

EMİNE ERDOĞAN VISITED DARYEL ORPHANAGE
After the official welcoming ceremony on the second day of her visit to Djibouti, Emine Erdoğan visited Daryel Orphanage, which is under the patronage of Kadra Mahamoud Haid, wife of the President of Djibouti. The orphanage, which raises children abandoned after birth and in need of protection, has 110 orphans, 40 girls and 70 boys. It was learned that two orphaned children, a girl and a boy, who are only a few weeks old, were named 'Emine' and 'Tayyip', respectively, to commemorate President Erdoğan's visit to Djibouti. Taking a close interest in the children at the orphanage, Emine Erdoğan gave gifts to all the children and made a donation to the orphanage.
ADDRESS TO THE JIBOUTI NATIONAL WOMEN'S UNION
Emine Erdoğan then visited the National Women's Union of Djibouti. Founded in 1977, when Djibouti gained its independence, the union continues to work under the patronage of Kadra Mahamoud Haid, wife of the President of Djibouti, and includes more than 500 women and youth associations. In addition to providing women with economic independence and enabling them to participate in socio-economic life, it also provides assistance to needy families and disaster victims, teaches literacy, and provides cooking and sewing training.
After attending a magnificent ceremony, Emine Erdoğan emphasized the importance of civil society in her speech. She emphasized the importance of the Djibouti National Women's Union's activities such as cooking and sewing training to equip women with income-generating professions. She said that this is teaching those in need how to fish instead of giving them fish. In his speech, he also touched upon Turkey's view of Africa. He said that Turkey is not in Africa with a manipulative and colonialist approach, but for purely humanitarian purposes.
Emine Erdoğan concluded her speech by saying "Long live Turkey-Djibouti Brotherhood, Long live Turkey-Djibouti Solidarity".
Emine Erdoğan was accompanied by Sümeyye Erdoğan, Sevgi Kurtulmuş, wife of Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş, and Nigar Işık, Hatice Eroğlu and Faize Müezzinoğlu, wives of ministers.
