Emine Erdoğan Visited Grand Bassam Orphanage
Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Ivory Coast, Emine Erdoğan visited the Grand Bassam Orphanage with the First Lady of Ivory Coast Dominique Claudine Quattara.
During her visit, Emine Erdoğan paid close attention to the children and gave them various gifts. She presented food aid from Turkey.
Founded in 1971, the orphanage operates under the Ministry of Solidarity, Family, Women and Children and houses orphaned children between the ages of 6-14 with a capacity of 180. Speaking here, Emine Erdoğan said: "All children, wherever they are in the world, deserve a warm home, compassion, education, play and unconditional love. It is the first duty of all of us to provide them with these opportunities, regardless of the circumstances."

TIKA'S ACTIVITIES IN AFRICA
Stating that orphan children are the trustees of the society, Emine Erdoğan expressed that they feel responsible for keeping the hope in the hearts of children always fresh. Emphasizing the importance of the bridges of hearts built by TIKA, Turkey's friendly hand, Emine Erdoğan expressed her satisfaction with the strengthening of diplomatic relations with Cote d'Ivoire, a developed country in Africa.
During the visit, Emine Erdoğan saw the infirmary and computer room that TIKA had renovated and furnished, and received information about the work carried out.
During the visit, Emine Erdoğan was accompanied by Hülya Çavuşoğlu, wife of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Kevser Elitaş, wife of Minister of Economy Mustafa Elitaş and Hatun Yılmaz, wife of Minister of National Defense İsmet Yılmaz. The visit was also attended by the Minister of National Education of Côte d'Ivoire and the Minister responsible for Children and Family. During the program, music performances reflecting African culture were performed.
