Emine Erdoğan Visited Lordina Foundation in Ghana

Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his official visit to Ghana, Emine Erdoğan visited the Lordina Foundation, which operates under the patronage of Lordina Mahama, wife of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama.

During the visit, 80 hearing impaired children between the ages of 4-12 studying at the Ghana School for the Hearing Impaired were presented with hearing systems provided by TIKA. After a special training provided by TIKA, the children will meet sound for the first time thanks to the devices they will use. In the same program, sewing machines and sewing sets were also presented to the students of Ghana Vocational Training Institute

Speaking at the program, Emine Erdoğan said, "It is a great pleasure for us to support Ghana's development efforts. I firmly believe that Ghana will rise from its ashes when it utilizes its young population and rich potential in the right way."

Emphasizing the importance of the bridge of hearts established by TIKA on behalf of Turkey, Emine Erdoğan stated that the sewing kits presented to the students of the Vocational Training Institute will be an opportunity to prepare Ghana's talented young people for the future. Emine Erdoğan expressed her happiness that the hearing systems, which will enable the students of the School for the Hearing Impaired to meet sound for the first time in their lives, will facilitate the lives of young people with disabilities.>

During her visit, Emine Erdoğan was accompanied by Lordina Mahama, wife of the President of Ghana, and the Minister of Gender, as well as Hülya Çavuşoğlu, wife of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Kevser Elitaş, wife of Minister of Economy Mustafa Elitaş, and Hatun Yılmaz, wife of Minister of National Defense İsmet Yılmaz.

After the visit to the Foundation, Emine Erdoğan, together with Lordina Mahama, visited Osu Orphanage where 139 children of various age groups are sheltered. Taking a close interest in the children at the orphanage, Emine Erdoğan gave various gifts to the children.
