Cultural Diplomacy and Cooperation
We are strengthening the lasting ties between African countries and Turkey through culture and creating a common ground for mutual learning and cooperation.
At Africa House of Culture, we offer an open platform for cultural interaction and mutual learning. Welcoming visitors of all ages, from 7 to 70, the African House of Culture provides the opportunity to experience culture up close through artworks, handicrafts, musical instruments and traditional clothing from different parts of Africa. Especially the visits of student groups at primary, high school and university levels contribute to the recognition of African culture from an early age.
Africa Culture House is a center that cares about sharing academic knowledge as well as cultural experience. In seminars organized with the participation of academics who are experts in their fields, historical, social and current issues related to the African continent are discussed. These meetings create a multifaceted learning space by bringing together cultural production and intellectual exchange.
Institutional Cooperation and International Recognition for Cultural Diplomacy
Founded in 2016 under the leadership of Mrs. Established in 2016 under the leadership of Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, the African House of Culture has developed a unique model that integrates culture with development, women's empowerment and social resilience through institutional collaborations. Contacts with international organizations, especially the African Union and the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), create concrete grounds for cooperation in areas such as the protection of cultural heritage, the promotion of fair trade mechanisms and the multidimensional empowerment of women. Coordination with public institutions, diplomatic missions and academia ensures that cultural programs produce a sustainable and measurable impact in line with the strategic diplomacy agenda. At the same time, direct contact with local women producer networks through training and production centers in Senegal and Tanzania transforms cultural heritage into economic value and brings women's labor to international visibility, thus transforming cultural diplomacy into a transformative cooperation model that brings social inclusion, economic empowerment and people-to-people bonding to the institutional ground.
Women's Labor and Sustainable Partnerships
Africa Culture House prioritizes efforts to strengthen women's participation in economic and social life in Africa and Turkey. The development of women's professional skills, their access to information about the business world and their participation in production processes are among the main focus areas of the collaborations. This approach reflects an understanding that considers cultural diplomacy together with its social impact.
