A Selection of African Proverbs II
African Proverbs Selection II is a multilingual and intercultural compilation that aims to make Africa's rich oral cultural heritage visible.
The book, which brings together proverbs from different geographies of Africa, is a comprehensive anthology in 38 languages, including Turkish, compiled by the ambassadors of 18 African countries. Designed as a continuation of the first volume, this work sheds light on the continent's cultural memory and oral narrative tradition by recording proverbs from different African countries.
Taken together with the first volume, the book stands out as a valuable reference source in terms of cultural diplomacy and academic contribution, aiming to address the oral heritage of different countries of Africa in a broader framework.
African Proverbs Selection 1
Prepared within the scope of an international project realized under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, African Proverbs Selection I is an important work that records the oral folk culture heritage of Africa.
The book, whose foreword was written by Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, was compiled by the ambassadors of 18 African countries; the proverbs translated into 38 languages by 14 translators have been collected in a single book.
